Date: 16 November 2026
Time: To be confirmed
Venue: ASEAN Pavilion, COP31 Blue Zone
Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and forest carbon initiatives offer significant opportunities to advance climate action, protect biodiversity and mobilise finance for sustainable development. However, ensuring that these investments deliver equitable benefits for women, Indigenous Peoples and local communities remains essential to achieving lasting impact.
This session will explore how climate finance and forest carbon initiatives across ASEAN can better recognise, engage and benefit the people who play a critical role in protecting and sustainably managing forests.
Discussions will highlight approaches to strengthening women's participation, promoting inclusive benefit-sharing mechanisms and ensuring that local communities are meaningfully involved in decision-making and the implementation of forest-based climate solutions.
Join regional policymakers, practitioners and development partners to explore how ASEAN can advance more inclusive and equitable approaches to nature-based solutions and forest carbon finance, ensuring that the benefits of climate action reach those who contribute most to protecting nature.
Further details on the programme, speakers and timing will be announced shortly.
