Marieke Sandker, holds a Ph.D. in Forest Ecology/Landscape Modelling. She joined FAO in 2010, working for FRA2015, joining the UN-REDD team in 2013. She is currently coordinating FAO’s support on Forest Reference Levels (FRLs), GHG inventory and REDD+ results reporting. In this role, she assists countries to develop FRLs for REDD+ under the UNFCCC and other initiatives. Prior to joining FAO, she worked as International Consultant for CIFOR contributing to IUCN’s Livelihoods and Landscapes Initiative. From 2005-2008, she was based in Yaoundé, Cameroon working as Associate Professional Officer for CIFOR, and 2002-2004, she was based in El Salvador working for Utrecht University and the Salvadorian Ministry of Agriculture for an EU-funded reforestation project.
