Thu, 04 Oct, 2018

The 2017 Annual Report presents the results of the UN-REDD Programme between January and December 2017, in the context of key cumulative achievements since the Programme’s inception in 2008. The Report highlights the results across the four pillars of the Warsaw Framework for REDD+ and key thematic areas, including gender mainstreaming and social inclusion, private sector engagement and tenure. These are accompanied by significant progress in REDD+ implementation, which will be at the centre of the UN-REDD Programme from 2018. The report also highlights the areas of South-South collaboration and institutional partnerships that have been critical to the success of the Programme. Finally, as UN-REDD initiates a new REDD+ implementation-focused programme from 2018 – 2020, the report outlines the strategy and approach for meeting continued partner country demand, while enabling countries to learn from the vast experience and best practices approaches of all partner countries. As of December 2017, the UN-REDD Programme had 64 partner countries across Asia and the Pacific, Africa, and Latin America and the Caribbean.
