Designated Operational Entity (DOE)

Definition

A domestic legal entity or an international organization accredited and designated by the CDM Executive Board. The DOE validates and requests registration of a proposed CDM projects activity and verifies emission reductions of a registered CDM project activity.

Alternative definition

An independent auditor accredited by the Clean Development Mechanism Executive Board, whose role is to validate project activities under the Clean Development Mechanism and verify and certify emission reductions generated by those projects.
