Our Strategy
UN-REDD’s updated 2026-2030 Strategy sets out the collective vision for the UN-REDD Programme to contribute to achieving the global goal of halting and reversing deforestation and forest degradation by 2030.
The 2026-2030 Strategy works towards four outcomes and three cross cutting elements, building on the experience, trust and traction gained at country, regional and global levels over the past 15 years:

MRV Output 1.1: National Forest Monitoring Systems, and Measurement, Reporting and Verification systems consolidated with Environmental Integrity

Benefit sharing Output 1.3: Just and fair benefit sharing mechanisms and social equity operationalized
Outcome 2: Unlocking finance for REDD+ results
RBF Output 2.1: Country-tailored improved knowledge and trust on market and non-market forest carbon finance
RBPs Output 2.2: REDD+ RBPs secured
Article 6 Output 2.3: Forest finance options under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement (and other UN-governed markets ) secured
VCM Output 2.4: VCM transactions for high-integrity jurisdictional REDD+ secured
Outcome 3: Enhancing climate ambition
NDCs Output 3.1: Ambitious, inclusive NDCs mitigation targets in the forest and land-use sector aligned to the global 1.5°C target.
ETF Output 3.2: Enhanced Transparency Framework supported (forest and land use focused)
