Dr. Inge Jonckheere is a Belgian Environmental Engineer and obtained a PhD in Applied Bioscience and Engineering in 2005, at KULeuven (BE). She worked at the Università degli di Milano (IT), she was Guest Lecturer of the Geomatics Group at the Department of Land Management at KULeuven, combined with a mandate as Science Programme Manager for Environment at the European Science Foundation, Strasbourg (FR). She started working at FAO as Remote sensing expert in 2009. Since 2010, she is working as Team leader of the Remote Sensing group in the REDD+/NFM Team, supporting developing countries to set up national Monitoring Reporting and Verification (MRV) systems. She is an official reviewer for LULUCF at the UNFCCC since 2012 and is Lead Author for AFOLU in IPCC since 2017 and Lead Author for the Sixth Assessment Report of IPCC. She has been involved in the SAFE work in FAO since 2015.
