In response to consultations with indigenous peoples’ networks at the global and regional levels, it was agreed that the Chair of UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) should represent indigenous peoples as Full Member on the Policy Board. In addition to this, one regional representative per UN-REDD Programme region was selected to act as Observer and work in concert with the indigenous peoples representative acting as Full Member. These representatives were initially self-selected through the regional caucuses that met at the Indigenous Peoples’ Global Summit on Climate Change (Anchorage, April 2009) and during the UNPFII later that year; they served from 2009-2012. The current indigenous representatives to the Policy Board, who will serve from 2012-2014, were selected by the regional Indigenous Peoples caucuses in July 2012 and are listed below.
