UN-REDD Programme Regions and Partner Countries

The UN-REDD Programme currently supports 62 partner countries across Africa, Asia-Pacific and Latin America and the Caribbean. To-date, the UN-REDD Programme’s Policy Board has approved a total of US$67.8 million for National Programmes in 23 partner countries. These funds support the development and implementation of National REDD+ Strategies.

UN-REDD Programme regional teams operate in all three of these areas to help coordinate efforts across countries in the region and liaise with other regional teams to ensure all countries in the UN-REDD Programme can benefit from knowledge sharing and important lessons learned.

UN-REDD Programme partner countries can also benefit from Targeted Support from the UN-REDD Programme Global Programme's Support to National Action. They can also engage in unique knowledge sharing opportunities, facilitated through UN-REDD Programme events and the Programme's online collaborative workspace. Partner countries also have observer status at UN-REDD Programme Policy Board meetings, and may be invited to submit a request to receive funding for a National Programme in the future, if selected through a set of criteria to prioritize funding for new countries approved by the Policy Board.
