The final report of FAO's Global Forest Resources Assessment 2010 (FRA 2010) was published 4 October at the biennial meeting of the FAO Committee on Forestry (COFO) and World Forest Week last week in Rome.
This publication is one of the most comprehensive assessments of the state of the world's forests ever undertaken. This year complementing the main report will be a global remote sensing survey of changes on forest biomes between 1990 and 2005, scheduled for completion in 2011.
